The police said that building materials used by the company for the work at Wang Fuk Court may not have been up to fire safety standards. The police did not identify the company or who was arrested.

A section of the tall bridge in mountainous Sichuan Province fell, apparently after a landslide. No casualties were reported.

The authorities initially thought the workers might be trapped after the collapse on Tuesday, but their bodies were recovered from the rubble overnight.
